Flowd Industry Event in London

Last week, Flowd invited various prominent music industry figures to an event we organized in London to showcase the potential of our app, and illustrate just how useful it can be not only to fans, but to artists, labels and managers.

Representatives from Red Bull Records, Cooking Vinyl Records, EMI, Hassle Records, Surrender All Records, Rock Sound Magazine, Visible Noise and more rocked up to London’s exclusive Hospital Club to eat, drink and find out more about the future of fan engagement.

Following a speech by our keynote speaker Ted Cohen – managing partner of Tag Strategic and former Senior Vice President of Digital Development & Distribution for EMI Music – in which he talked about the fragmented nature of social media meaning that users now have a kind of social fatigue, where there is a resistance to new platforms, and how Flowd presented a great chance for bands, artists and labels to bypass this fatigue with true fan engagement, we took the opportunity to talk in depth with our guests about what they thought of Flowd.

What we were struck by during our chats with the amazing group of people who came along was just how positive and receptive they were about the existing features of Flowd, and what we have planned for the future. “It’s brilliant for artists who already have a following, as it allows you to take your most responsive fans to a new platform,” said Joachim Nawrot, digital manager at a leading London rock/metal label. Joachim continued “you can take a group of people and build a special relationship with them”.

Andy Betts, who looks after UNKLE’s digital properties was impressed by the passion with which Armen Van Buuren approaches Flowd. “It’s great to see a big artist leading the way,” said Andy, before going on to say that Armin’s massive Flowd follower base was a great opportunity for cross-pollination with other artists and platforms.

The evening was a very positive learning experience for us, with great feedback coming from all of our guests. We’d like to thank everyone for coming and giving us some amazing insight into what Flowd can do to help bands, artists and labels connect with their fans in brand new ways. Hope to see you all again next time!

Dan Brown from We are the Ocean took home the much coveted check-in prize for the evening!
